TRAINING PLANS

Thanks for your interest in Chris Eatough's Training Plans.

The plans below offer training and preparation tips for several different types of mountain bike races.  The plans include a detailed  training schedule, with specific workouts, intensities and durations prescribed.  Each plan also includes my tips and advice to help you perform at your best on race day.

The training is challenging, as it needs to be to prepare properly for a difficult race, but it is designed to be manageable for a man or woman with a day job and/or family.

Both road and trail riding are recommended in the plans, but a road bike is not necessary. A mountain bike can be used for both the road and trail rides. No heart rate or power meters are required. The effort levels are prescribed as a percentage of maximum effort.

These plans will motivate you and keep you on track, so that you are doing the intensity and duration of training at the right time, and will help you "arrive" at your focus mountain bike race in peak condition.
